Yorkshire Three Peaks in Three Days! July 16th 17th and 18th 2012
The Yorkshire Three Peaks of Pen y ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough are usually completed in 12 hours
(Known as the Three Peak Challenge) but we like to take things a little slower at Ramblers Trafford Group so we are doing the Three Peaks in Three Days!
Full details of the walks will be on the website shortly but all three will be graded as strenuous. Pen y ghent is 694 metres above sea level (2273 ft) Whernside is 736 metres and Ingleborough is 724 metres.
The accommodation base for the walks is Ingleton and members who want to stay for all three walks should think about booking their accommodation as soon as possible as this is a popular area. The first walk will take place on Monday 16th July followed by the other two on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th July. Members who are staying may want to book Sunday night accommodation (15th July) as well although it is entirely a matter for you. A Sunday afternoon walk could be included as an add on. All walks will be
published on the website shortly and will also be on the Ramblers Walksfinder, so that any member can join us on any individual walk.
There is a variety of accommodation in Ingleton and various websites, including www.ingleton.co.uk
Please e mail me at lesley.beech@ferntree.me.uk if you are interested coming and let me know if you have any queries or problems booking your accommodation. Keep an eye on the website for the walk details.
