GET MORE OUT OF WALKING.....................
Walking with your local Ramblers Group is a great way to explore your local environment. Ramblers walks leaders often know how to get to the most interesting places so you can enjoy all the benefits of walking without the worries of getting lost or planning a route.
Walking is an excellent natural exercise which can help you stay healthy and live longer. Your local group enables you to meet new friends with a shared interest in the countryside.
As a registered charity, the Ramblers operates both on local and national level and aims to encourage walking, protect and maintain rights of way, increase access to open countryside and the coast and defend the beauty of the countryside.
Whether it's the knowledge that you will be helping to safeguard Britain's countryside or the great range of benefits that appeals, please give your support and help us to protect the pathways you love today and the ones we'll help you discover tomorrow.
ABOUT THE RAMBLERS TRAFFORD GROUP;
The Ramblers Trafford Group offers urban and country walks to suit adults with a range of fitness levels and interests. Distances covered can range from an easy 4 or 5 miles in the local area to a strenuous 12+ miles on the hills and moors of the Peak district.
Our walks programme is produced quarterly and gives members full details of all our walks and other activities. All walks are led by volunteer leaders who are all Ramblers members. Walks take place throughout the year on Thursdays with regular, fortnightly, Saturday Strolls aimed at new walkers.
By supporting your local Ramblers Group you are also supporting local and national campaigning for continuing access to the countryside.
We have an active local footpath team who inspect all footpaths in Trafford. They take an active role in footpath maintenance by working alongside the local council team to clear vegetation from paths and ensure that signposts and stiles are in a good state of repair.
If you would like to know more about the group and it's activities please contact us at; firstname.lastname@example.org
