Walking Routes in Trafford - Easily followed, self-guided, short walks in Trafford.
1. Mersey Valley Footpath Network Walk 1
This first route is a 2-mile circular walk in an area which has few through routes, which are consequently little used. Walkers will find significant points of interest and, in places, walking the route will help to keep down vegetation.
The route is part of a much more extensive network of footpaths nearby, details of which will be added to the list of published routes shortly. The network in turn has links to Urmston and Ashton‑on‑Mersey to the west, Stretford to the north and the Sale Water Park area to the east, and we will be adding details of similar routes in those areas in the coming months.
Other areas in Trafford which we aim to cover in the near future include Sale and Brooklands and, of course, the Bollin Valley.
The aim of the RTG Footpath Team has been to highlight the network of enjoyable walking routes to be found in Trafford, in many cases made up by combining official Public Rights of Way with other usable footpaths not shown on conventional maps.
We hope people will enjoy getting out and using these walks on their doorstep
The routes have been developed using Ramblers Routes plotting tools.
