SATURDAY STROLLER WALKS - to the end of June 2019
Not been walking for a while? Want to get back to walking?
Just fancy a short easy stroll in the fresh air? Come and join your local Ramblers group on a ‘Saturday Stroller’.
All walks are easy, circular and will be at a leisurely pace taking 2 to 3 hours. All of the walks are around 4-5 miles long
So why not give it it go?
All you need is suitable clothing and footwear - and perhaps water and a snack to have en route?
You don't need to be a member of the Ramblers to join a Saturday Stroll but we would expect you to join the group if you
walk with us on a regular basis.
To join us for a stroll just be at the start point, ready to set off, at 11am .................................
Saturday 6th April Bowdon and the Bollin WA14 2TR Leader; Angela
Meet at the entrance to Bowdon Parish Church for an easy stroll through Bowdon Parish
and beside the River Bollin.
Saturday 20th April Styal SK9 4JE Leader; Lesley
Meet at the free NT car park along from the Ship Inn for a walk through woodland and the
along the Bollin valley returning via Quarry Bank Mill.
Both of the walks in May are part of the Greater Manchester Walking Festival programme.
Saturday 4th May Didsbury M20 2RN Leader; Lesley
Meet at the car park behind ‘The Didsbury’ in Didsbury for a stroll around Fletcher Moss Gardens, Stenner Woods and the banks of the River Mersey.
Saturday 18th May Sale & Chorlton water parks M33 2LX Leader; Sheila
Meet at the visitor centre for a flat easy stroll around the water parks and ees.
Saturday 1st June Ashley with summer lunch WA15 0QR Leaders; Lesley & Sheila
Meet at the The Greyhound car park for a stroll followed by lunch back at the pub.
(Food choices to be made on the day before we start the walk.)
Saturday 15th June Lymm WA13 0JQ Leader; Lesley
Meet at the Pepper St car park for a leisurely stroll around the local area.
Saturday 29th June Alderley Edge SK10 4UB Leader; Lesley
Meet at the National Trust car park by The Wizard (free for NT members) for a stroll along the Edge. The route is mainly on good paths but there are some steep inclines to climb.
Non-members are welcome to join us but if you walk regularly with the Strollers you will be expected to join the Ramblers.
