SATURDAY STROLLER WALKS - to the end of September 2018
Not been walking for a while? Want to get back to walking?
Just fancy a short easy stroll in the fresh air? Come and join your local Ramblers group on a ‘Saturday Stroller’.
All walks are easy, circular and will be at a leisurely pace taking 2 to 3 hours. All of the walks are around 4-5 miles long
So why not give it it go?
All you need is suitable clothing and footwear - and perhaps water and a snack to have en route?
You don't need to be a member of the Ramblers to join a Saturday Stroll but we would expect you to join the group if you
walk with us on a regular basis.
To join us for a stroll just be at the start point, ready to set off, at 11am .................................
Saturday 2 June Carrington Moss M33 5BL Leader; Sheila
Meet at the Mersey Farm pub car park, Carrington Lane, Sale for an easy flat stroll around the Moss passing the
training facilities for Bury FC, Sale Sharks and MUFC.
Saturday 16 June Peover WA16 9EX Leader; Sheila
Meet at the Whipping Stocks Inn car park for a stroll to Peover Hall, a stop for coffee at the garden centre and returning
by Free Green Lane.
Saturday 30 June Styal SK9 4JE Leader; Vicky
Meet at the free NT car park along from the Ship Inn for a walk through woodland along the Bollin valley and by Quarry Bank Mill.
Saturday 14 July Ashley WA15 6RU Leader; Lesley
Meet at the car park beside The Greyhound, Back Lane, Ashley for an easy flat stroll crossing fields which may be
muddy after wet weather.
Saturday 28 July Lymm WA13 0JQ Leader; Lesley
Meet at Pepper Street car park, Lymm for a leisurely stroll around the local area.
Sunday 5 August High Legh with the Kindling Trust WA16 6NS Leader; Sheila
Meet at Abbey Leys Farm, Peacock Lane, Knutsford for a walk to the FARMSTART site at Arthill Heath Farm to meet the growers. Before the walk please make time to visit the monthly farmers market at Abbey Leys Farm (open from 10am).
Saturday 11 August Mobberley WA16 7QL Leader; Sheila
Meet at the Railway Inn car park near Mobberley Station for a walk exploring the Parish of Mobberley.
There are several stiles on this walk which crosses several fields.
Saturday 25 August Hulmes Ferry and Barton Moss M41 8GH Leader; Sheila
Meet at the Davyhulme Millenium Nature Reserve car park to cross the Ship Canal on the free ferry.
The 5.5mile flat walk then takes us to a local fishery on Barton Moss for coffee and cake.
NB; this walk takes more than the usual 2hrs as it includes a ferry crossing and a coffee stop.
Saturday 8 September Urmston Meadows M41 9JZ Leader; Lesley
Meet at the car park behind St Clements church, Stretford Rd, Urmston for an easy stroll on local footpaths maintained
by the RTG footpath team.
Saturday 22 September Timperley and Brooks Drive WA15 7XR Leader; Sheila
Meet at the car park off Baker St behind the Stockport Rd library building for a new route along Brooks Drive to
Fairywell Wood and returning alongside Fairywell Brook.
Non-members are welcome to join us but if you walk regularly with the Strollers you will be expected to join the Ramblers.
