WALKS CLASSIFICATION;
Easy; short, gentle walks suitable for most people (E)
Leisurely; walks mainly on rural, unsurfaced paths with some sustained ascents/descents. Reasonable fitness required. (L)
Moderate; walks may be over rough terrain with steep ascents/descents. For those with a good level of fitness. (M)
Strenuous; physically demanding walks suitable for experienced walkers with above average fitness level. (S)
Technical; walks where additional equipment or skills may be required, e.g headtorch, compass, OS maps etc. (T)

The walk takes us along the River Goyt then ascends to Laneside Rd via Shedyard Clough to follow the track to New Allotments and then a ridge walk before descending to Birch Vale. A further climb via the Pennine Bridleway the route then passes Weathercoates, Aspenshaw Hall and Broadhurst Edge plantation before dropping to the car park via the Goyt Way.
